Labor & Employment Attorneys
Trevett Cristo has attorneys experienced in handling the unique issues presented in labor and employment matters. Our attorneys have successfully represented individuals subjected to harassment, discrimination or retaliation in the workplace, as well as public employees whose civil service rights have been violated. Our representation includes not only civil lawsuits, but also proceedings before state and federal agencies, such as the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The firm also represents employers in defending charges of unlawful discrimination and in developing and implementing practices and guidelines designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Our attorneys also represent public sector labor unions, primarily law enforcement and firefighting personnel. We handle all aspects of labor relations, from negotiating collective bargaining agreements to processing grievances and representing employees subject to investigation or charges of misconduct. We represent unions in complex proceedings before the NYS Public Employment Relations Board, including improper practice charges, representation proceedings, mediations and arbitrations.
